Shirakawago and Takayama
The village of Shirakawago was registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site in 1995 for being a remarkable example of the view or accumulations of a certain form of buildings and architectural techniques that illustrate a certain period, which highly important in the history of human beings. Old Town

Ogimachi
Ogimachi is the biggest village and the most visited site in Shirakawa-go. The village provides dozens of well-preserved gassho-zukuri, some of which are more than 250 years old. The farmhouse has been transformed into a restaurant, museum, and minshuku (the traditional accommodation.)

Enjoy the beauty of the Ogimachi landscape and ancient village in Shirakawago from a Shiroyama viewpoint. This is the best spot to take a breath and be amazed by the entire Shirakawago.
